The wisest way to kick-start your life and remind yourself of what you cherish is to consider your own mortality. By considering death and the shortness of life, you will determine what you wish to strive for and who you want to spend your time with. This may seem ominous and morbid, but "the wise will lay it to heart."

Make sure that you set up action areas in your home or office. These are places that are designated to one action each so that you can perform this action and then move onto the next one. For example, you can set up an area for filling orders, an area for boxes that need to be shipped, etc.

Combine email and your phone to facilitate your day. Use emails to remind yourself of things you have to do. Every night shoot off an email to yourself with the next day's shopping list, appointment times and whatever other items you must remember. You can retrieve the emails right from your phone, the next day.

Keep track of how you spend your time. Our lives are filled with so many activities that are nothing but time wasters. Think of what we might have accomplished over our lives if we had of better invested the time we spent mindlessly sitting in front of the television! Keep track of your time so that you know where it is going.

Come up with a little pep talk for yourself. Take some time to write down a few of the good things that you love about yourself and keep it on a exotic postcard. Carry it with you, and refer to it when necessary. Better yet, record your qualities on video or audio and listen to it often. For what reason?

Mood management can be one of the toughest goals to accomplish, but it's not impossible. The first step is realizing that your moods are not always your own fault. A lot of the time, they occur, due to the actions and words of other people or the situation around you. As soon as you realize that you are allowed to have moods and that you don't have to turn them off simply because others want you to, is the moment that you will slowly be able to start focusing on them and being able to choose the mood that you wish to be in.

Even if you are only to read a few pages each day you will be a lot farther ahead than someone who has never read the book at all.

Learn to love yourself - spend three minutes of every day standing in front of the mirror and repeating positive affirmations that you can rely upon for confidence, strength, and support. An optimistic outlook is a powerful tool that can have significant benefits for the mind, body, and even the soul.

Volunteer for that job no one else wants to do. Volunteering can open up your relationships with others. Identify your current strengths before you try to change your perceived weaknesses. A key component of personal development is having a true understanding of your whole self. Unfortunately, personal development often focuses only on weaknesses. Often, improving an already developed strength may be more helpful to achieving your long-term goals.

A great way to improve one's self confidence is to prescribe to an exercise routine. The positive energy from working out and the rewarding feeling of going to a gym can help one's self esteem tremendously. Sometimes all it takes to feel better is an improved sense of self worth.

Take responsibility for your own life. If you aren't where you want to be in life, it is easy to blame others. You may feel that your parents let you down, your teachers weren't good enough, your boss had it in for you or that you didn't have as many advantages as someone else. The truth is, your choices and actions have gotten you to the point where you are today. The only way to make changes is to stop blaming others, and take responsibility for your thoughts, actions and accomplishments. Only then will you be fully in control of your own life.
